The Green Gables House
Cedarburg Auction will conduct an estate sale at the home of Jacob & Nancy Hansen. The
home was formerly owned by Walter Henry Bender, one of Milwaukee’s leading families.
Mr. Bender was deputy attorney general for the State of Wisconsin and was a partner at
the law firm Bender, Trump, Davidson & Godfrey. He served as special counsel for the
State and appeared as counsel in the U.S. Supreme Court. He also served on the board
of numerous local foundations. Time has stood still in this house! The majority of the
furnishings are from the estate of Mr. Bender and the Hansen’s were impeccable
